What are Transform Mission Trips?

Transform mission trips give you the opportunity to share your faith with people in practical ways. The trips provide you with the opportunity to minister to people from other cultures and to show them the love of Jesus through various aspects of service. It may be painting walls, gardening, laying floors, or general maintenance work, but whatever it is you will become a part of the powerful and ongoing work that God is doing in the world.

These trips are open to anyone 18 years or over, and normally run in the spring each year. Whatever your experience is, be it seasoned veteran or no experience of missions at all, you would be most welcome to join the Transform team and serve God in wonderful and practical ways. The teams link up with established ministries and Christian workers already in their communities. This provides us with first hand knowledge of the local area and, more importantly, the needs of the local people.

The teams usually consist of around 18-24 people from different church backgrounds and with different skills and abilities. Each member is given the opportunity to do practical work and try things that they maybe have never tried before. There will be opportunities for practical work, street evangelism, prayer ministry and speaking at the local church.

Why go on a Transform Trip?

In the 28th chapter of Matthew we read in the Great Commission that Jesus places a lot of value on going out and sharing the love of Christ. These trips give you the chance to do that with communities who really have nothing compared to our privileged lives. The word 'Transform' really is appropriate because, from past experience, God not only transforms the lives of the people we go to work with and serve but time and time again we have seen God transform and impact the team members lives in ways they never thought possible.

Previously we have travelled to a very poor area of Mexico, and been blessed by the townspeople and children as we assisted in building a school. In Bulgaria we have been able to transform areas of a large orphanage by painting the interior, laying new laminate wooden floors, installing double glazing in the children’s bedrooms and manufacturing new beds. For the schoolchildren of a state run school in Razgrad, we ran a program about Scotland and St. Andrew. Not to be left out, the team worshipped in a very small, local church (in fact a flat in a multi-storey building) in the Mahala (a Gypsy community in Razgrad). What a blessing!

May 2010 - The Next Step

8th May - 15th May 2010. The TTW Transform team are invited to return to Bulgaria. Are you up for it?
